How much does it cost if I request a service estimate?

How much does it cost if I get phone advice?
It is absolutely free!
Can I bring my computer/laptop to you for repair?
You don’t need to for we only do on-site service at competitive price, and the reason is because some people bring in their device and the issue is with their network at home, either their router has a problem or they have no internet at all.
Can I call you 24/7 if I have problem?
Our regular hours are between 8AM to 10 PM 7 days a week. A 24 Hour service is available for emergencies for most companies that cannot wait and we charge double if it is after the hours. Best recommendation is, if it is not an emergency situation please call between the hours indicated.

Yes, just call us for details.
How long does it typically take to solve a problem?
Most support sessions take about an hour to an hour and a half. The session may be much shorter or longer depending on the number and severity of issues. In some cases when a computer is heavily infected with viruses and/or spyware, work may need to continue by doing an in-home or in-office on-site visit by one of our certified technical experts.
Who is doing the work?
The troubleshooting of your system is performed by one of our industry certified technical experts. When you call us to request service, you will speak to one of our technically trained customer service representatives who will find out details of your problem and delegate it to one of our expert technicians.

Once we are finished working, we log off the session and the program that allows access is completely removed from your computer.
Is your work guaranteed?
We will always work with you to make sure you’re satisfied with our work. If you ever have a questions or concerns over a service, our customer satisfaction team is ready to make sure you are happy with your service. Please understand the volatile nature of computers, and that some problems can be recurring but not necessarily due to poor service on our part. For example some computers are reinfected with the same virus or spyware after a user repeats the same actions that got the system infected in the first place. If you have service performed and are not happy with the results we will work with you to complete the job to your satisfaction.
Which platforms are you supporting? Windows?Mac?
We support both Windows and Macs through our on-site service. Our remote service is only available for Windows at this time.

Not at this time. We only support the Silicon Valley Bay Area, CA.

There are times when an online remote session will not be adequate to remedy a particular problem. In those cases we will schedule an on-site technician to physically be at your location.

Do you recycle old computers and their parts?

Yes. When you purchase a new system from us we will recycle your computer at no cost to you.

What is your turn around time?

We finish the job on-site.  so at the same time. There are cases where we may need to take a system back to the office for further diagnoses. This is only 5% of the time.

What kinds of machines do you repair?

We repair all types and brands of office machines, computers, and machines (except for telephones, copiers, and typewriters). This includes many obsolete machines, in addition to laptops, scanners, line printers, and point-of-sale equipment such as electronic terminals.

Why should I bring my computer to you, and not to a manufacturer’s warranty service center?

CEC can repair your notebook. If you are within 1 year manufacture warranty you may want to deal with them; otherwise, call us and we can help.

Do you fix Dells and Gateways, or do I need to deal with those companies directly?

Yes, we fix these brands and install the required warranty parts shipped by the manufacturer. Often, it is smart to deal with a third party such as CEC. We can verify to make sure you do not lose your data. Sometimes you send a notebook out and the drive may be formatted by the manufacturer and all your data will be lost.

What kinds of networks do you build?

The purpose of a network is to let numerous computers in distant locations talk to one-another and share software from a central source called a server. We build and maintain reliable, high quality network designs using such leading edge technologies.

What kinds of computer systems do you build?

We build custom PC’s since 1989, using the best quality parts that are also the most reliable. Our low volume production of custom-made PC’s ensures the ability to upgrade and reliability.

Are your prices competitive?

Our prices are competitive with companies offering the same products and services. Lower priced systems and services are available from other companies, but too often they deliver irregular service, quality and reliability. Our certifications guarantee fast repairs at a slightly higher cost than the popular vendors, but overall the result is often a lower cost and reduced downtime.

Do I Need a Service Contract for My Business Computers?

Your computers need to be running at their best to help keep your business operating smoothly and efficiently. No matter what type of computer system or network you have in place, unless you have an in-house IT department to repair your hardware and software, you need to seriously consider a service contract.

Some business owners mistakenly think that when they buy a few computers, or set up a networking system, they automatically get free technical support and service. But those technical support packages will range from “limited support” to “pay-as-you-go support.” The best advice is to read the fine print (and it will be fine print). Some computer systems come with a 30- or 90-day limited-warranty and tech support package. Again, when in doubt, find out what’s included before you make your purchase.

Usually, the less expensive the computer system, the less likely you will get any type of extended warranty or service support. That’s when it makes sense to buy a service contract. Even if you’re on a tight budget, you need to weigh the cost of the service contract against the cost of replacing the computer if something goes wrong.

No doubt some of your employees have become well-versed in fixing a myriad of computer problems. And while it’s good to have knowledgeable employees who can step forward and save the day, there will come a time when they will be sitting there, scratching their heads, wondering what to do next.

Before purchasing any computer equipment, check to see if any type of service contract is offered. Most manufacturers, certified dealers, and independent service firms that sell computers also deal with service contracts.

We recommend service contract for your network because you minimize the down times and it is proven to save you money and time.

Can we get all of our PC, Macs, printers, routers, modem, switches, software, and accessories from CEC and have it networked by CEC?

Yes, we have done this since 1988 and you do not need to go to different vendors. We also sell service contract.

Why should I work with CEC?

CEC is accredited by BBB with A+ rating and have done honest business in the Bay Area Since 1988. Our reputation and professionalism and product knowledge speaks for itself.
